It was a day filled with joy, gratitude, and heartfelt emotions as the President and Founder of Mary Slessor-Akan Glo Foundation and former Dean of Honourable Commissioners and Special Advisers in Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Glory Edet, marked her birthday in a truly special way with widows and less privileged persons.
The celebration, which took place on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Etim Okon Usanga District Headquarters, Ewet Offot Area was a colourful gathering of songs, dance, and prayers.
Instead of a lavish party, Dr. Edet chose to spend the day giving back, presenting thoughtful gift items to widows and less privileged individuals drawn from across the Ewet Offot Area.
Her gesture brought smiles, tears of joy, and words of blessing from the beneficiaries who prayed earnestly for God to continually uplift and bless her.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Edet expressed profound gratitude to God for the gift of life and the privilege to touch lives, reaffirming her lifelong commitment to service and compassion.
“Every new year is another opportunity to give thanks and to reach out to those who need love the most,” she added.
For the widows and the less privileged/ families who left the Church with smiles, her birthday became more than a celebration. It was a reminder that kindness still lives within us.
Meanwhile, October born persons at The Apostolic Church Etim Okon Usanga District, including Dr. Glory Edet did their Thanksgiving Service and the Church prayed for all of them.
The District Pastor, Pastor ( Dr.) Samuel Edet who was also born in October led in the Thanksgiving and the cutting of their Birthday cake to the glory of God.
