“We are here to return all glory to God because without Him, there would be no Mary Slessor-Akan Glo Foundation.” These were the heartfelt words of the President and Founder of the Mary Slessor-Akan Glo Foundation (MASLAG), Dr. Glory Edet as the Foundation celebrated its Third Anniversary with a special Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Four Towns Parish, Uyo.
The service was a moment of gratitude, reflection and renewed commitment as Board of Trustees, Staff and well-wishers gathered to thank God for three years of impactful humanitarian service.
In her remarks, Dr. Edet attributed every milestone recorded by the Foundation to God’s faithfulness, noting that the vision and success of MASLAG have been sustained by divine grace.
“Today is dedicated to appreciating God for all He has done for this Foundation and for bringing us this far. Without God, there would be no Mary Slessor-Akan Glo Foundation. He has used us as instruments to put smiles on the faces of countless people,” she said, adding that the Foundation has also committed its fourth year into God’s hands.

She expressed appreciation to the leadership of The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria for preserving and advancing the enduring humanitarian legacy of the late Scottish missionary, Mary Slessor.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Akaninyene Akankpo, who led in the Thanksgiving paid glowing tribute to Mary Slessor, describing her life as a timeless inspiration for compassion and selfless service.
He highlighted the Foundation’s numerous interventions over the past three years, including scholarships, skills acquisition and empowerment programmes, business grants, and other life-changing initiatives targeted at vulnerable members of the society.
He also commended Dr. Glory Edet for her unwavering commitment to humanity and her compassionate leadership, which continues to drive the Foundation’s expanding impact.
The thanksgiving service featured special prayers for the Foundation led by Rt. Rev. Ofonime Udo, Moderator of Akwa Synod of The Presbyterian Church, Nigeria while Rev. Asuquo Bassey delivered an inspiring Homily on the theme, “Legacy,” challenging believers to live lives of lasting impacts through service to God and humanity.
As part of the celebration, the Foundation presented a donation to the church in support of its ongoing building project, reaffirming its commitment to giving back and partnering with institutions that promote faith and community development.
The thanksgiving service concluded with joyful praise and thanksgiving, as members of the Foundation returned all glory to God for three remarkable years of touching lives, restoring hope and making a lasting difference.
